Hey All!
As many of you know, I left my position as Youth Pastor back in May. After speaking with a former student on Thanksgiving day, I feel even better about my decision. The youth group has a strong leadership team of lay people with a vibrant young man at the worship helm and a rotation of adult and student speakers. I could not be more proud. If you ever hope that a ministry fails without you, your heart is in the wrong place. There is so much more joy in watching their success and knowing that you might have had a small part in it.
I’m still working through what it means to fly solo and how to be the best resource to all of you. I know there are many youth workers who Google their way to a piecemeal youth program every week. I think I have a better way for you to succeed and not just week to week but year to year.
There are also many youth workers who do not want or cannot afford a degree or to attend seminary. So many of you think you are less than because of this. Let me emphatically say, “You do not need a degree to love students!” It makes no difference if you have a degree or not, but it does matter if you surround yourself with people who are rooting for your success and willing to offer their experience to make that success happen.
Imagine a group of ten youth pastors meeting twice a month to help solve one another’s challenges. I have decided to put together a coaching group. Some call this a mastermind group but I prefer Ministry Mind group because, in the end, we want to be good ministers of the gospel and stewards of our ministries.
I want to offer you a chance to be a part of such a group The group will have a twice a month video call where we will discuss:
- what’s going on in your ministry
- work on your ideas, messages, retreats and dreams
- and gather for much needed fellowship and prayer
The group is limited to 10 people and I have set a date of December 20th as the cut off date for sign up. If you’re interested in
- quality training
- deeper relationships
- building a successful youth ministry
- digging into the creative process of youth work
- gaining confidence to meet and exceed expectations
then this group is for you.
Having ministered to hundreds of students and youth workers over the past 30 years, I understand the unique challenges of being a youth pastor and the snares that try sabotage our success. I can help you avoid the pitfalls that sink most youth workers and help you find the path that leads to fulfill whatever God has put on you heart.
If you have any question whether an investment like this is for you, let talk about it. Schedule an appointment with me and I’ll answer all your questions.
Have a great week everyone!
Paul

You know you want to do this! Do it!
Yep, this is different. Play this pre or post service or have your own beatbox contest.
You don’t have to watch this whole video, but you probably will.
The video is silly, but the concept is solid and duplicatable (if that’s a word). Run with it!
Have a mixed age class of teens giving you hives? Let me put something on that.
