I really identify with many of the guys in my youth ministry. Many of them are living stories now that I lived when I was there age. I was talking with a young man last night about his alcoholic parents and so many of the kids in my group have absentee dads.  Both of these stories, as well as many others, resonate with me. That’s why I think a guys small group is so important.

A few months ago I had two girls come to me asking if they could start a small group for High School girls and I was stoked. It’s really the first inclination towards starting and owing their own ministry in 5 years.  Because I wanted them to succeed I changed the way we did our Wednesday Night. I won’t bore you with the details, you can read some of my small journey here. Needless to say if the girls were going to have something the guys must have something and F.I.G.H.T Club was born.

Like the girls group, F.I.G.H.T club, was student led. the two guys leading it had no previous experience in leading a small group but that did not hurt them. We reverse engineered the whole thing, Go, Set, Ready.

Almost nine weeks later, the guys group has grown to almost 17. Each week they play a little, share a little, and pray a little. They shout out the memory verse in cadets to help everyone to remember them. They don’t always remember the verse the next week but it’s fun to watch. The end the meetings by putting all hands in and shouting, “F.I.G.H.T Club!”. It’s really a sight to behold and makes my heart happy that we created a space for guys to talk out the issues they deal with. This is why I put it all together so you can reach the guys in your group.

In F.I.G.H.T Club I provide 9 weeks lessons, opening actives, plenty of discussion questions, and some social media promo to boot. F.I.G.H.T Club gives your guys an identity, accountability, and a place where they can grow in their faith their way. I hope you’ll check it out HERE.

In this case, it’s o.k. to talk about F.I.G.H.T Club.
