This is the fourth in a series of posts about giving your prayer life a make over. You can find part 3 Here. You can start from the beginning here

Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary

I am amazed by what many people believe and don’t believe. We’ll believe in UFO’s, reincarnation, and even ghosts but we can’t believe in the Virgin Birth? The theology of many believers are also split when it comes to what God can and will do. We’ll believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins  but won’t believe He can do miracles today. We’ll believe Jesus ascended into heaven but won’t believe He’s coming back. And we’ll believe that God can create the universe but not int the audacity of same God who made a virgin give birth. It’s my belief that if God can do anything, He can do ANYTHING and not just what my small mind can imagine He can do.

Maybe this is the part of the prayer where I, and maybe you, have to believe most. We have to believe in an outrageous, over the top, and brilliant God who would go to any length to ensure His son would be perfect, sinless, in order to be our atonement. How far will we allow our minds, hearts, and faith go to believe in this kind of God?

Scriptures

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21

Prayer

God, you can do anything. You can divide seas, heal the sick, and raise the dead. You participated, like all fathers, in the birth of your son. He was conceived in the only way possible to be be sinless, through the power of your Holy Spirit. God, than thank you for being outrageous. Thank you for being a God worthy of radical faith. Today I believe you can do ANYTHING with me and in me. Amen.
