My Music Picks Of 2014

1 · 02 · 15

ON NOW

I listen to predominately Christian/Gospel music but I make room in my ears for all kinds of music. In fact, you may find the diversity of my list absurd. Music has the power to make us dance, weep, shout, and lose our minds. I think I experienced most of those feelings through the music of 2014. Here’s what my emotional music landscape looked like.

Dance/Hip/Hop

Lecrae’s Anomaly especially Nuthin’ and Runners

Beckah Shae – Champion, Incorruptible, Turbo Style, and My All (featuring T-Bone)

We Are The Saints – Testify (love the  old school)

Andy Mineo – Neverland, it’s rare when you can enjoy an album all the way through.

Misfits 2 – Coogi Sweater and Cops

Propaganda – Daywalkers

Papa San – Step Up (very Pittbull-ish but reggae style)

King Kulture – Royalty

HeeSun Lee – StereoTypes Another album worth listening to all the way through but Tonight Is The Night is a great track.

KJ-52 – Mental – Game Face and Fight Music

Group One Crew – Heaven from the EP #Faster

Fun/Pop

twenty one pilots – Vessel – Overall fun album to listen to. Diverse and quirky.

Mercy Me- Shake

Family Force Five- BZRK

Erica Campbell – A Little More Jesus

Group One Crew – #Faster Ep

Group One Crew – #Stronger

Kept Me Rockin’

Thousand Foot Krutch- Like A Machine and Born This Way

Disciple – Pretty much the whole album but standouts include Radical, Attack, and Dead Militia

NEEDTOBREATHE- Feet Don’t Fail Me Now

Caleb Johnson – Sailing Away was my jam this year but honorable mention goes to Save Me and Testify

Mikes Chair – Top to bottom a solid album filled with rock, pop, and worship

Wolves At The Gate – For when I feel the the need to get my scream on.

U2 – Ordinary Love

Black Veil Brides – Faithless was an anthem of sort for me this year.

Made Me Think

Say Something – A Great Big World and Gwen Stephanie

U2 – Song for Someone

K. Michelle- Two songs from her album, Anyone Want To Buy A Heart, caught my ear : God, I Get It and Judge Me

Worship

Audrey Assad – This album just blows me away. Lead Me On and I Shall Not Want just owns me.

John Mark McMillan – I loved this album so much I wrote a whole post about it HERE

Acquire The Fire – Epic- Powerful songs.

All Sons and Daughters – Love the song We Give You Thanks

Page CXVI- Enjoyed this album at Easter Time
