God Loves The Unlikely

GOD-1

Consider all the unlikely biblical characters God chose in the Old Testament

Abraham and Sarah to have children beyond their years

David a shepherd

Moses a murder

Gideon a coward

Samuel a child

Jonah the runaway

Joseph a teen

Jacob the liar

and then who Jesus chose in the New Testament

Fishermen

Lepers

Mary the Mother of Jesus

Prostitutes

The Poor

Matthew the tax collector

All unlikely, either because of age, gender, cultural norms, or positions in life.

The problem is, the more knowledge we gain, the experiences we have, raise us out of the realm of the unlikely and into the realm of the deserved.

[bctt tweet=”I want to be unlikely again. I don’t want to say “Look what I did” but “Look what God did in me and through me and in spite of me”.” username=”@paulturnertoo”]

For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh–Philippians 3:3
