This Kid’s Video Echoes What The Bible Says About Bullying

Words Can Hurt Or Heal

I watched this video on bullying and said, “This kid nails what words can do.”. You can watch it below

I also thought about my own experience with bullying and how it almost destroyed me.

I was picked on, bullied, through middle school and the first two years of high school. I’m a straight, white, average guy. Unfortunately, average is a war crime in middle school.

The  Bible is clear about the power of our words.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. Proverbs 18:21

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.  Ephesians 4:29

There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.  Proverbs 12: 18

We have a choice today. We can speak life or speak death.

We can speak out of fear or speak out of courage.

We can speak and make or destroy someone’s day.

We will speak. The question is, what will we say and to whom will we say it?

And, after we speak, will the people we’ve spoken to be built up or torn down?

Speak Life.

Your Turn

Make it your goal to speak life to the next person you engage with. Find something to compliment or something to encourage.
