I just arrived back from speaking from camp. This is the camp I received Christ at, was discipled at, worked five summers at and four years full time, met my wife at and next year will be by 20th year speaking at. I have a love affair with camp.
This year so many of you had to cancel camp and for that I am sorry. Camp is a life changing event for many teens and a game changer for youth ministries, but don’t get down if you can’t have camp in the traditional way.
I have a special Camp Edition of the Youth Ministry Round Up with some Virtual Youth Camp Ideas and some ideas for those of you who are able to have camp this year, albeit in a more socially safe distancing kind of way.
My prayer for you is that you are able to gather with your kids, in some way, whether sitting safely six feet apart around a camp fire sining songs or sitting around in square boxes on a Zoom call eating s’mores together.
