As I write this, it is day four or five of Lent. I choose to do Lent over beginning of the year fasts because it’s more meaningful to me. This year I have give up coffee. Not all caffeine. Just coffee.

I am not addicted to coffee, but coffee seems to get all the credit or blame (I haven’t had my coffee yet). I want to eliminate coffee as an icon for these 40 days. I want to re-align my trust with God, putting my trust in things eternal not external.

Where is your trust these days? In your abilities? In your church? Take a moment and remember not what you trust, but Who you trust.

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. Psalm 20:7

If you are looking for a new devotional, I listen to a podcast called Pray as you Go and is a simple devotional that helps gather in your thoughts and be present with God.

Whether you practice Lent or not, my hope is that this season of life and resurrection will be meaningful and powerful to you.

Thanks for working with teenagers.
