Youth Ministry Round Up #29

Welcome! If you’re new here and are not a subscriber, subscribe here and get the Youth Ministry Round Up in your inbox.

Hey Youth Workers,

You may not care, but I just finished painting a house, and it wasn’t even mine. It was a wreck, a smokers house. It took three coats of paint on every wall and ceiling. It was a lot of hard work but I took pride in it. I knew all those mission trips would come in handy for something.

I joke, but this is my life now as a tent making minister. Some of you are in the same boat. You have a job and work with kids. Let me encourage you that just because you don’t do youth ministry full time, you are not less than what God called you to be. Take pride in what you can do and don’t beat yourself up for what you can’t.

Here’s what’s been up in my world.

I’ve been super busy booking my camps for the summer, I have a few weeks open if anyone is interested.

Kara Powell and Steve Argues new book Growing With is out now, grab it! If you’ve not been keeping up on my chapter by chapter reflections as a parent and as a youth worker, you can check out the article below under Parent Ministry

I have been offering two free spots every couple of week for my Ministry Mind Coaching group, absolutely free. If you’ve ever wondered what online coaching can do for you, send me an e-mail (thedproject@me.com) and let me know you’re interested. My next Ministry Mind session is Monday March 11.

Lastly, I offer you a bonus Round Up of Easter and Lent Resources for your youth ministry. Enjoy.

Have super Lent/Easter season!

On with the resources!

Paul

Quotes (more than usual, there were a lot of good ones)

IMO “shallow worship music” is “shallow” because we don’t give ourselves to it. It’s about vulnerability and honesty. Not that the information is irrelevant, just that it doesn’t mean much if you give all the “correct” answers but not yourself.@johnmarkmc

Keep going. Sometimes we keep going by waiting. Sometimes we keep going by pausing. Sometimes we keep going by stopping. Sometimes we keep going by crawling. Sometimes we keep going by walking. Sometimes we keep going by running. Just keep going. – @ChristineCaine

Dear older folk, us twenty-something’s don’t want to be written off because of our age. We are willing to learn, fail, get back up again, and try harder. But you have to give us a chance. – @ChelseaCrockett

At any (every) level of life you gotta have a team – Antonio Brown

“God’s baseline emotion towards you is mercy” – @DanSeenson

5 People You Need in Your Inner Circle:

A DREAMER to inspire you A MOTIVATOR to push you. An ENABLER to sustain you. An ENCOURAGER to empower you. A THINKER to disagree with you and save from your own stupidity. – @GreggTJohnson

Keep going. Sometimes we keep going by waiting. Sometimes we keep going by pausing. Sometimes we keep going by stopping. Sometimes we keep going by crawling. Sometimes we keep going by walking. Sometimes we keep going by running. @christinecain

The first to apologise is the bravest. The first to forgive is the strongest. The first to forget is the happiest. @NickyGumbel
