Happy Friday all!

We are a week away from Thanksgiving and I hope you know that I am thankful for all of you!

I told my wife the other day that I think Thanksgiving has become a lesser holiday in America. With the all the hype around Halloween and Christmas, Thanksgiving get’s jammed in the middle and, in my opinion, gets the shaft. Maybe it’s because there’s no candy or gifts or decorations but Thanksgiving requires even more than the two other holidays combined. It requires time.

Thanksgiving requires thought, meditation, reflection, and take action. Thanksgiving requires that we slow down, focus and pay attention to the rhythm of our own hearts. This, for many, is too high a price to pay, certainly for our students and maybe for some of you.

Are you grateful for where you are in life right now, even though

your expectations are not being met?

your youth ministry isn’t growing?

your relationships are a hot mess?

Everything may not perfect now, but be grateful for what your life is and what it will become. It’s easy to be thankful when everything is good. Maybe this is why the writer of Hebrews says,

For here we do not have a permanent city, but we are looking for the city that is to come. Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His name. And do not neglect to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.…

Be thankful in all things

It’s basketball season!

Is this you? I can help.

Preach.

These are funny, but what would it look like to make an honest trailer                                              for your youth ministry? Make one and send it to me and win cool stuff.

It’s basketball season and I was asked to write a five day devotion for a basketball camp. If you have an open basketball night, lead an FCA, or just love basketball, these basketball devotions will challenge your students to live a life of character on and off the court.

I could use your help to help you. What is not being written that needs to be written about that you or your youth ministry needs to hear, understand, etc. Do you need small group lessons or sermons on certain topic? Let me know what you’re looking for.
