Inevitable: a situation that is unavoidable.

The word for the day is “inevitable”. Many are shocked and surprised when leaders fall, tragedy happens, and bad news comes in like a flood. I am not shocked or surprised. It is inevitable. Like reaping and sowing.

People without a teachable spirit or a humble heart, who cannot and will not repent, I suggest you prepare for The Inevitable.
However, the one who receives instruction in the word must share in all good things with his instructor. Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.… Galatians 6:6-8
Likewise when good people suffer I am also not shocked
Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. I Peter 4:12
And if you dodge a bullet, recognize it as God’s grace, which is also inevitable, at work in those who receive it.

The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, Romans 5:20

I am not shocked when the righteous are blessed,

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. I Peter 3:12

Finally, my flesh is initially surprised when the unrighteous receive good things, but should not be

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[i] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Matthew 5:43-45

Either way, let us not be shocked by the state we are in.

If we are blessed, let’s be thankful.

If we are heading towards an inevitable negative consequence, let’s own it. Better still, let’s change it.
