What Would Your Famous Last Words

I was watching the latest episode of The Walking Dead (Always Accountable, Season 6) and, as usual, I learn something. Sasha and Abraham are holed up in an office building where an office worker Walker is locked in in his office behind a glass door.

Behind him is a white board where I am sure he wrote out plans, business strategies, quarterly earnings, sales leads, etc. But he had the wisdom, before he died, to write down four things on that white board that he wanted people to remember him by.

Proud to have made provided value

I pray for the world.

Keep Going.

Stay Cheerful.

  • The Bite Kill

This could be something he lived by.

Proud to have provided value

As you were slowing turning into a Walker, reflecting on your life, could you have written these words? Are you proud, up to this point, of what you offered the world? Have you offered value, love, respect, answers, and creativity to the complex world around you?

I pray for the world

To the end this guy had faith, faith that the world could change. Do yo have faith? Do you have enough faith to utter a prayer, whether you are a believer or not, to let the word escape our mouths to God or the universe to hope for something better.  Jesus prayed the world,

Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you[e] known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.

What is your prayer for the world?

Keep Going

Yet another statement of faith. No matter what, keep going. Yes, the world is going to hell, the dead walk the earth , our way of life has changed, enemies surround us, but keep going. Have you felt like giving up lately? Don’t, keep going.

Stay Cheerful

This guy didn’t believe in just trudging on, he believed in staying cheerful. Yet another act of faith and a decision we make every day. As a believer, Jesus gives me a reason to be cheerful and hopeful

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.- John 16:33

and

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. –  I John 4;4
Trouble is inevitable, miser is optional. Stay cheerful.
Your Turn
Knowing your death was imminent, what four statements would you write down to be remembered by?
or
What statements, words of advice, would you leave the world?
