Hey Campers, what an amazing week I had with you. Thank you for coming to Life For Youth Camp and accepting my challenge to grow in Christ!

I have a bible study book here for new believers and here for those who want to grow deeper.

Here’s a free Summer S.O.A.P Study to get you started.

Here are my notes from the week I was at Life For Youth Camp. My theme was Open Your Eyes.

If you’re not a camper, enjoy the verses and video ideas. Curriculum for this week will be coming soon. If I can be a blessing to your camp visit my speaker page

Sunday- Open Your Eyes

Appetizer Questions: What’s your favorite movie? What kind of music do you like? Where so you go to school?

Why Did Jesus Come?

Luke 4:18

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,

Jesus is quoting from Isaiah 61:1, one of many prophecies of describing how people would know who the Messiah was.

The word here for blind is tuphlos and could mean physically or mentally blind.

Bad Eye Opening

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. Genesis 3:7

Good eye opening experience

Luke 24: 29-35

So He went in to stay with them. While He was reclining at the table with them, He took bread, spoke a blessing and broke it, and gave it to them. 31Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Jesus—and He disappeared from their sight.

They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us as He spoke with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” And they got up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem.

There they found the Eleven and those with them, gathered together and saying, “The Lord has indeed risen and has appeared to Simon!”

Then the two told what had happened on the road, and how they had recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread.

Jesus was found in community, around a table having a meal, not in church. This service is where you may make your commitment to Christ, but it may be around the lunch table that your eyes are opened talking with a Christian friend or a counselor, that you discover that Jesus is real.

Ephesians 1:18 NIV

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,

Ephesians 1:18, NLT

“I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called–his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.”

This week I desire your mental eyes, your “heart eyes” to be open, first to Jesus but also to each other.

Let’s pray
