Hall of Famer Jerome Bettis was on the Sunday Night Football halftime show last night. He shared the great story of his father dropping him off at Notre Dame. Jerome’s dad, Johnnie Bettis, told Jerome, “I don’t have much to give you but I can give you a good name, don’t mess it up. ” Jerome, in turn, told Christ Collinsworth and Al Michaels. “I pass this (saying) along to my kids, I told them, I have more than my dad had to give me but the most important thing I can give to you is my good name, don’t mess it up.”

I can’t help but believe Jesus has the same sentiment for His kids.
